"Guess Who's Back, Back Again"

It feel like I was posting the "Wake Me Up When September Ends" blog entry just yesterday and here we are, the summer is over and October has arrived. Normally, it's nothing to be happy about, right? Rain, dropping temperatures, more rain, winter just around the corner. Yuck? Yes, but...

Fortunately, October also means NBA basketball is back and our Raptors are back in town. To your average Raps fan, Fall is the best time of the year as it means we're back at the Air Canada Centre two days a week, at average, obsess over the away games and stay up late at night to follow the West Coast game, over analyze every single pre-season game missed shot and a turnover. It's fun, and we love it!

I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed being back at the ACC last Friday for the pre-season game vs the New York Knicks. Considering a took my time deciding on whether I should renew my Season Seat, considering the uncertainty of direction the team might be taking under new management as well as the disappointment the last season brought. Just entering that building, being recognized by the lady checking tickets at the Season Seat Holder gate (she even knew that it's my second season) and realizing the in-seat server remembered my usual meal, I knew I made the right decision.

And then there's the actual basketball! Pre-season games are rarely pretty and Friday's one was no exception. But right now, it doesn't really matter since 'tis the season to be experimenting and learning for the coaches and the players. For us, fans, it's just a good feeling to be back in the building, enjoying not only the very-unfinished product on the court but also the overall game experience we missed so much during the seemingly never-ending off-season.

October? It's for the weak! Bring on November and the regular NBA season. There's no bad weather than your team's win cannot cure. Let's go Raptors!
